The SoundLink III is one of the latest Bose bluetooth speakers to hit the market, and a true high-end product. While it still offers a great value for money, it actually also manages to stand out in the highly competitive mid to high price range bluetooth speakers arena.
There’s actually quite a bit to discuss about the SoundLink III, so let’s just cut to the chase and get to it.
Great Emphasis on Bass
Those who have used or know a bit about Bose speakers know that it has a tradition of emphasizing bass, and the SoundLink III is no exception. You would perhaps be surprised at the amount of bass this little speaker pumps out.
The bass is something where Bose products really manage to stand out, even when compared to some of the other high-end and popular bluetooth speakers out there such as the Jawbone and UE boom box.
Another great thing about the SoundLink III, however, is that it can steadily maintain the bass as well as a clear layer of sound at the same time. The bass is actually extraordinarily good, even by Bose’s standards.
Coming to the other aspects of the sound quality, the SoundLink III is really very loud, and in fact, louder than the previous versions of SoundLink. Of course, there’s also no loss of details and no noise even at full volume.
Vastly Improved Battery Life
The battery life of the SoundLink II, or even the other Bose speakers, was perhaps the only thing that wasn’t truly “Bose-like”. However, this is no longer the case, as the SoundLink III comes with a significantly improved battery life of about 14 hours.
However, something to note here is that the battery doesn’t seem to be user replaceable, but it’s sure to last around 2-3 hours, even if you use the speaker daily. But even if you need to replace it 3 years down the line, you can get it done at around $75 or so at a Bose service center.
Durable and Stylish
The SoundLink III also sports a new look and design, and is also quite durable. It’s also very functional and has buttons for pretty much everything, including for bluetooth, volume, power, mute and more.
Not All is Perfect!
The SoundLink III certainly seems to be one of the best of the best speakers out there, but it’s perhaps still not perfect. This is especially true given that it still doesn’t come with NFC support, hands-free calling and the AUX-in cable.
The minor downsides are quite insignificant given the bass rich sound, amazing battery life and superior build quality. With that said, the SoundLink III is certainly one of the best bluetooth speakers out there in the mid to high price range.
