Cambridge SoundWorks OontZ Angle 3 review

Rating:

First things first, as the name suggests, the OontZ Angle 3 is indeed ultra portable. In fact, it’s apparently the most portable bluetooth speaker on the market, and can even fit in the palm of your hand.

That being said, if you’re looking for the perfect bluetooth speaker for travelling, you may want to read through the features of the OontZ Angle 3 being mentioned below.

Surprisingly Loud for the Size and Price

Honestly speaking, you wouldn’t expect such a tiny speaker to give out very loud sound. However, it really manages to surprise on this front by being louder than most other bluetooth speakers in this price range.

There’s more to it, though. The sound, besides being surprisingly loud, is also crystal clear, which is really rare to find in a portable speaker at this price. The highs and mids are pretty clear, and there’s little to no distortion even when playing it at the max volume.

The bass is mind boggling for the size and price, too. Overall, with a sound output of 10W+, it turns out to be significantly better than its earlier versions that were more expensive.

Battery Life

It comes with a 2200 mAh battery, which offers a playtime of up to 7 hours, depending on the volume. Basically, if you usually play the speaker at around 70 percent volume, it will last around 7 hours.

However, the good thing is that 70 percent may turn out to be sufficiently loud most of the time. You would also see a battery symbol on your device notifying you to charge the battery when it’s about to run out.

IPX5 Certification

The OontZ Angle 3 also comes with an IPX5 certification, making it splash proof, dustproof and sand proof. This makes it a great “shower” speaker as well, which are really in demand as of late.

No Bells and Whistle

Well, we don’t really know whether this is actually a “downside” of the product, but it’s worth a mention all the same.

The OontZ Angle 3 doesn’t come with a micro SD card slot, NFC support or even the option to change tracks using the speaker controls.

However, we doubt if there’s any product that comes with these features in this price range, and even if it does, it may be compromising on the sound quality quite a bit, which the OontZ Angle 3 doesn’t.

A Final Word

Simply put, if you’re looking for a no-nonsense portable bluetooth speaker that comes with an amazing sound quality for a great price, and are fine with not having any of those advanced features, the OontZ Angle 3 may well be your best bet.
